What are the four layers of the Earth?
Well, let’s start with the basics!
The four layers of the Earth are:
- the crust (where we live)
- the mantle (where convection currents happen)
- the outer core (liquid)
- the inner core (solid)
What is included with these interactive notebook pieces?
With this Earth layer interactive notebook, you receive the following folding templates:
- Sort the description for each layer of the Earth (crust, mantle, outer core, inner core)
- Layers of the Earth diagram
- Layers of the Earth chart (thickness, made of what metals, temperature range, liquid or solid)
- Layers of the Earth riddles flipbook (which layer is being described?)
- What is the oceanic and continental crust made of? flipbook
- Which layer is the most dense? Which layer is the least dense? Why? flip square response
What makes these Earth layers resources so great?
Differentiation
This interactive notebook comes with three styles of differentiated handouts.
One handout is blank, one has fill-in-the-blanks, and one has the information prefilled out.
Pick the handout that works best for your student’s ability or the amount of time that you have in a science block!
Only have 15 minutes to get a lesson in before lunch?
Grab the prefilled one!
Have LOTS of extra information that you want students to write down?
Choose the blank!
There are lots of choices because all students and classrooms are different.
Easy & Simple Cuts
No one wants to cut out a teeny, tiny heart!
This interactive notebook has simple and easy cuts, so you won’t spend all science block simply trying to cut a few things out!
Engaging
These folding templates are visually appealing, so students enjoy putting their interactive notebooks together.
Any time that students enjoy what they are doing, they are more likely to learn and stay focused.
Organization
An interactive notebook is a structured way to organize information.
Students can later review and study the material.
The information is visually laid out in a way that helps the brain see the content in a straightforward way.
Paper-Saving
This interactive notebook is actually paper-saving.
Each single piece of paper has enough material for two students, so very little paper is wasted.
