After years of being frustrated that reading passages took too long, were too boring, and made my students groan, I knew there had to be a better way for students to review reading strategies while practicing comprehension skills.
I created color by number passages & questions that were short, to the point, quick to assess, and most of all – FUN!
You will learn all about the reading comprehension color by number set made especially for 2nd-graders to focus on key strategies and standards that they need to know.
However, I also have 3rd-Grade and 4th-Grade reading passages and questions available!

These 2nd grade color by number reading comprehension worksheets are super simple and easy for students to use!
First, students read the passage.
I encourage students to highlight and use close reading skills while reading the passage.
Next, students answer the comprehension questions.
Each multiple–choice answer has a color written in the parentheses next to it.
Students will match up the question numbers with the number on the picture, and color it accordingly.
I included key reading strategies that your 2nd-graders will be working on.
